We created an enhanced online experience for United Bank’s diverse set of customers that is seamless across all devices for a regional bank with a growing personal and business banking customer base. United Bank has a rich 175 year history of serving its customers well, and contacted Carousel30 to continue to enhance the customer experience it provides. Its current website was not mobile-friendly and didn’t adequately capture the fast-growing financial institution’s brand and approach to customer service.

The challenge


As a fast-growing bank in the Mid-Atlantic region, United Bank reached out to Carousel30 assist with helping it reach new customers as it continues to expand. The website needed to remain easy to use and intuitive for its existing audience, and draw new audiences in with a more sophisticate interface and mobile-friendly design. Ultimately, its measure of success is balancing these two needs and making sure that both current and new customers have a rewarding experience.

The process


Carousel30’s experience with bank website design, and our more general expertise in website user experience was tapped in order to create a web presence that works consistently for users, regardless of device. We performed strategy, design, copywriting and development for the site in conjunction with the United team. Our user experience team worked to streamline and simplify the navigation and content structure, while our creative team made sure the both copy and design were straightforward and adhering to the bank’s brand.

The solution


The new bankwithunited.com website utilizes the Drupal Content Management System (CMS) to allow the bank to easily and effectively manage the pages on the site, and provides a strong foundation for future growth of the financial institution’s primary web presence. With a responsive design, the site provides an optimal experience for users regardless of the device they are using to access it. The website also features a location search which showcases the bank’s many locations across West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, DC and Pennsylvania.
